It’s Three Kings Day and Sensory Saturday at the Perez household; here is a bin with our supplies. First, a mat to protect the floor which is an absolute MUST. I got this large picnic sized one from Amazon and it works like a charm. Then, some whipped topping separated into ziploc bags; we color them with food coloring and she squeezes them to her heart’s content. Some sand that I made of multigrain cheerios which will go into a large bin with her sensory noodles to “dig” for “worms”. Some Crayola colored bath bombs which I don’t like to use in the tub but fair game for sensory play, and her finger paints. And of course, we can’t forget her smock. That will keep us going for a few hours - and I try to make as much as I can from edible materials in case she pops something into her mouth (Becca has pica and has the urge to eat inedible items).

Lastly, I grabbed her Bluetooth speaker to play Brahms while we play, the music is soothing and calming so I try to use it to keep her from over-excitement. I also have a calming light that I will dim the lights for to keep her calm if she starts to get overstimulated. Happy Saturday y feliz día de los reyes!
